It’s time to cruise with confidence as exciting new partnership launches between marine industry specialists

At BoatSmart HQ, we're delighted to announce that we've teamed up with Gulf Group Marine Brokers, the largest boat brokerage in New Zealand, to provide vessel support and maintenance services to their clients.

Both companies offer complementary services to boat owners and aspiring seafarers with Gulf Group acting as brokers for yachts, launches and commercial vessels and BoatSmart HQ managing all the critical service and maintenance elements of boating so owners can enjoy life at sea, worry-free.

BoatSmart HQ pairs you with a qualified and experienced 'First Mate' to help keep your vessel shipshape, providing a monthly inspection service and managing any maintenance work required. The service also includes a year’s free membership to the Coastguard to make sure you have peace of mind when you leave the marina.

Bruce Leggatt, co-owner of Gulf Group Marine Brokers says of the partnership: “Gulf Group Marine Brokers are very excited about this new and innovative partnership that will certainly play a major role in the industry by assisting our many boat owners by taking the uncertainty and worries out of owning and caring for their expensive asset. Imagine having the comfort of knowing that your vessel is being maintained and serviced on a regular basis – how better than to enjoy the asset you have completely trouble free."

Since purchasing Gulf Group Marine Brokers in 2003, owners Bruce Leggatt and Neil Cameron have developed the company to include 10 branches in New Zealand and an office in Fiji. Their brokers boast a large portfolio of yachts, launches, commercial vessels and marina berths and offer competitive marine insurance rates, finance and vessel appraisals.

Founder and Director of BoatSmart HQ, Scott Richardson, explains that the app-based service solves many challenges for boat owners who may not have the time or expertise to get their vessels in shipshape condition.

“BoatSmart HQ allows boaties to venture out knowing the full status of the vessel and reassured that they have done all they can to mitigate risk vessel wise,” he says. “Boat maintenance is essential and inevitable, not optional. We keep our members’ boats up to date therefore preserving the asset value and safety of all on-board.”

Like BoatSmart HQ, the Gulf Group is located in Auckland, New Zealand. To date, it has 10 branches across the country, as well as agents in Christchurch and Fiji.
